Unlocking high-grade potential in Nevada

An ambitious mineral explorer is preparing for an aggressive drilling campaign in Nevada and British Columbia, targeting untapped high-grade gold and silver deposits in two of North America’s most prolific mining districts.

Walker Lane Resources’ (TSXV:WLR) primary assets lie within the Walker Lane Gold Trend District in Nevada and the Rancheria Silver District spanning Yukon and British Columbia, complemented by additional property holdings in Yukon.

The team is preparing to launch an aggressive exploration program aimed at advancing its flagship projects—Tule Canyon in Nevada and Amy in British Columbia—through targeted drilling campaigns. The goal: define resources in the near term and position these properties for future development.

The Tule Canyon Property: A historic district with untapped potential

Located 95 km south of Tonopah and 80 km northwest of Beatty near the Nevada-California border, the Tule Canyon Property  is associated with the underlying Sylvania Pluton. Regional plutonic intrusions in combination with major structural features are likely key factors to the formation of mineralization at the Tule Canyon Project and throughout the Walker Lane area.

Mineralization occurs along a 5-kilometre structural trend, hosting numerous quartz veins with mesothermal textures. These veins contain precious metals associated with hematite, pyrite, jarosite, rare galena, and copper oxides. Historic assays underscore the property’s exceptional grade potential:

  • Silver-dominant zones (Ingall’s Vein and China Doll): up to 4,320 g/t Ag and 31.8 g/t Au.
  • Gold-dominant zones (eastern trend): up to 37.3 g/t Au at surface and 27.6 g/t Au underground, with silver assays reaching 183 g/t Ag.

Despite a rich mining history dating back to the 1840s and small-scale operations through the 1980s, modern exploration remains minimal, and notably, no drilling has been conducted to date. This presents an opportunity through systematic exploration.

Silver Mountain Property: High-grade silver in the Walker Lane Trend

The Silver Mountain Property, located approximately 57 km southwest of Goldfield in Esmeralda County, Nevada, comprises eight BLM claims with road access and no surface impairments.

Historic workings reveal multiple high-grade silver showings:

  • Gulch Showing: grab samples up to 3,270 g/t Ag; chip sample of 0.6 m @ 1,415 g/t Ag and 0.48 per cent Cu.
  • Silver Bowl Mine: surface chip sampling up to 0.4 m @ 1,245 g/t Ag.
  • Old Cabin Showing: stacked vein arrays with grab samples up to 394 g/t Ag.

These results highlight the property’s potential for significant silver mineralization within mesothermal or deep epithermal vein systems.

Advanced exploration through precision surveys

To refine drill targets, WLR engaged Precision Geosurveys Inc. of Reno, NV and Langley, BC to conduct airborne magnetic and radiometric surveys over Tule Canyon and Silver Mountain.

These surveys—covering 212 line-kilometres at Tule Canyon and 47 line-kilometres at Silver Mountain—are designed to map complex volcanic stratigraphy and identify structural anomalies associated with precious metal mineralization. The data will be instrumental in guiding WLR’s next phase: focused drilling programs.
