Uniserve Communications (TSXV:COMP) provided an update on the development of its VAN-2 data centre in Vancouver, highlighting the project as a significant milestone in the company’s strategy to expand Canadian-owned digital infrastructure, enterprise services, and artificial intelligence computing capabilities.
The facility, located at 369 Terminal Avenue in Vancouver, is being developed as an approximately 930-square-metre data centre designed to support a broad range of enterprise computing, cloud infrastructure, colocation, and AI-related workloads. The company expects the site to deliver an initial operating capacity of one megawatt by the fourth quarter of 2026, with an additional megawatt available for future expansion.
According to a Uniserve news release, VAN-2 is being designed with a focus on reliability, performance, and scalability. Planned features include a Tier III architecture with redundant power and cooling systems, support for high-density computing environments of up to 30 kilowatts per rack, and carrier-neutral connectivity that will allow customers to access multiple network providers. The facility will also incorporate controlled access systems, around-the-clock monitoring, and business continuity infrastructure to enhance security and operational resilience.
