Forge Resources Corp. (CSE: FRG) (OTCQB: FRGGF) (FSE: 5YZ) reported progress on underground development at its fully permitted La Estrella coal project in Santander, Colombia, including completion of a junction connecting the ramp to the crosscut that is advancing toward the project’s coal seams. The company said the crosscut has advanced 15 metres so far on a direct line toward the first of eight known coal seams. It estimates the first seam will be encountered after about 25 additional metres of crosscut development. This article is a journalistic opinion piece which has been written based on independent research. It is intended to inform investors and should not be taken as a recommendation or financial advice. Forge described the 15 metres of crosscut progress as including 10 metres developed on a 12.4 m² steel arch profile and 5 metres on a 9.0 m² profile. The company said the smaller profile is improving excavation, loading and muck handling efficiency as development continues. To support further advance as the crosscut lengthens, Forge outlined planned underground infrastructure upgrades. These include installing an additional 30 horsepower explosion-proof axial fan about 120 metres along the underground ramp to work with an existing surface fan, and planning an increase in on-site electrical generation capacity to 175 kW from 60 kW. The technical information in the release was reviewed and approved by Emilio Gene, P.Eng., the company’s project director and mining engineer, identified as a Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101. Forge is a Canadian-listed junior exploration company that holds an 80% interest in Aion Mining Corp., which is developing La Estrella. The company also holds an option on the Alotta project in Yukon, described as a porphyry copper-gold-molybdenum target covering 230 mineral claims over 4,723 hectares.
