  • Vizsla Copper (TSXV:VCU) has begun its first-ever drill program at the Copperview project, with more than 2,000 metres of drilling planned to test the untested M5 copper-gold target
  • The M5 target is a large geophysical anomaly located 6.5 kilometres north of Kodiak Copper’s Gate Zone discovery and is considered highly prospective for porphyry mineralization
  • Vizsla also completed Phase 2 drilling at its Poplar project, bringing total 2026 drilling to about 20,000 metres, with assay results from the latest program still pending
  • Vizsla Copper stock (TSXV:VCU) last traded at C$1.02

Vizsla Copper (TSX:VCU) has commenced its inaugural drilling campaign at the wholly owned Copperview copper project, a 11,630-hectare property located about 40 kilometres north of Princeton in south-central British Columbia.

The fall 2026 exploration program will comprise more than 2,000 metres of diamond drilling focused on the M5 target, a large geophysical anomaly that has never been drill tested. The company believes the project is prospective for porphyry-related copper-gold mineralization.

Two diamond drill rigs have been mobilized to the site and are currently advancing the first holes of the campaign.

Copperview’s M5 target was identified through a combination of airborne and ground-based geophysical surveys. The target is characterized by a broad chargeability-high anomaly measuring approximately 2.5 kilometres by 1.4 kilometres and associated with strong conductivity signatures and a regional magnetic break, features commonly associated with porphyry systems.

The planned drill program will test an area measuring roughly 1,500 metres by 800 metres across the target zone. According to the company, the concealed nature of the target beneath glacial till has left it largely unexplored despite its favourable geophysical characteristics.

The M5 target is situated approximately 6.5 kilometres north of Kodiak Copper’s Gate Zone discovery within the MPD project area. Vizsla noted that the geological and geophysical setting at M5 shares several similarities with the Gate Zone, where copper-gold mineralization is associated with a strong chargeability anomaly and a regional magnetic break.

In addition to the start of drilling at Copperview, Vizsla Copper announced the completion of its Phase 2 drill program at the Poplar copper-molybdenum project in central British Columbia.

The summer campaign at Poplar totalled more than 8,800 metres across 17 drill holes along the Thira alteration corridor, an area that hosts the company’s 2025 Thira discovery as well as the Camp Lake and Copper Pond targets. Assay results from the Phase 2 program remain pending.

Earlier in 2026, the company completed a Phase 1 program at Poplar totalling more than 11,200 metres. Combined with the summer work, Vizsla has drilled approximately 20,000 metres at Poplar this year.

Phase 1 returned several encouraging results, including an intercept of 304.8 metres grading 0.48% copper equivalent (CuEq) in drill hole TH26-154. That interval included 45.0 metres grading 0.58% CuEq.

“The launch of our inaugural drill program at Copperview will bring us to approximately 40,000 metres of total drilling across our portfolio of copper projects this year,” Vizsla Copper’s CEO and chair, Craig Parry, said in a news release. “This fully funded program will focus on the recently identified M5 target area, which we have been very eager to test since it was identified through systematic pre-drilling work, especially given its proximity to Kodiak Copper’s Gate Zone discovery, just to the south. With additional assay results anticipated from our recent drill programs at Poplar and our Palmer project in southeast Alaska, we look forward to continued news flow through the remainder of 2026 and into 2027.”

Vizsla Copper Corp. is a spin-out of Vizsla Silver (TSXV:VZLA) and is backed by Inventa Capital Corp. It is a mineral exploration and development company with headquarters in Vancouver, B.C., focused on its flagship Woodjam project, located within the prolific Quesnel Terrane, 55 kilometres east of Williams Lake, B.C.

Vizsla Copper stock (TSXV:VCU) closed trading at C$1.02 but has lost 25% since the beginning of the year.
