Gold and copper miner Inspiration Energy (CSE:ISP), market capitalization C$1.77 million, acquired the 76,640-acre Rottenstone West project in northern Saskatchewan, making it one of the largest landholders in what Monday’s news release describes as “one of Canada’s most exciting new volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) and gold exploration districts.”

This content has been prepared as part of a partnership with Inspiration Energy Corp., and is intended for informational purposes only.

Consideration includes C$18,590 in cash to reimburse staking costs, 3 million Inspiration Energy shares and 2 million transferable share purchase warrants exercisable at C$0.18 for five years. This is in addition to a 3 per cent net smelter return royalty, half of which the company may buy back for C$3 million.

While a steep price, given Inspiration Energy’s just over 30 million shares outstanding, Rottenstone West’s prospectivity is nothing to scoff at thanks to multiple sulfide occurrences, all of which remain untested by modern exploration, granting management a multitude of targets for a maiden drilling program planned for the near term.

The property is located in the Rottenstone Domain along the same geological structures that host multiple high-grade showings in the region, including Ramp Metals’ nearby Rottenstone SW property, which yielded drillholes of 73.55 grams per ton (g/t) gold and 19.50 g/t silver (Ranger-01), as well as 1.61 per cent copper (Rush discovery).

Drilling will begin on Inspiration’s adjacent Rottenstone North gold project, where a recent advanced atomic mineral resonance tomography satellite survey identified numerous high-priority gold and copper targets along the project’s eastern boundary, on trend with Ramp’s Rush discovery a few kilometres away.

Leadership insights

“With over 85,000 acres now under Inspiration’s control, we are now one of the largest landholders in this exciting new VMS district,” Charles Desjardins, Inspiration Energy’s chief executive officer, said in a statement. “We’ve strategically positioned ourselves along trend with recent discoveries and have cutting-edge satellite data identifying multiple gold-copper targets. Our technical team is finalizing drilling plans right now and we anticipate launching our first drilling program shortly.”
