Laurion Mineral Exploration (TSXV:LME) released new results from its 2025 drill program on its Ishkõday project in Greenstone, Ontario, that continue to demonstrate the potential for hosting a significant resource.

The latest 1,800 metres of the 7,700-m program tested the northeast extension of the mineralized system on the project’s Brenbar mine, specifically with drillhole LME25-063, later stepping out to the northeast of the mine targeting the untested M50 quartz vein series. Here are some highlight intercepts:

  • LME25-063: 0.7 m at 2.67 grams per ton (g/t) of gold from 139.50 m to 140.20 m.
  • LME25-065: 0.50 m at 1.78 g/t gold from 91.10 m to 91.60 m.
  • LME25-066: 1.50 m at 1.02 g/t gold from 272.50 m to 274 m.
  • See a full set of results in Tuesday’s news release.

The results follow a pair of drillholes spanning 954 m reported in early November substantiating the mineralized system at the historic Brenbar mine area, as well as step-out areas to the north and northeast of the historic mine shaft.

Laurion reported the first five drillholes in August and September, identifying high-grade gold vein systems in the nearby Sturgeon River mine area with the potential for broader mineralization along strike and at depth, in addition to proving out continuity with the Brenbar mine.

The Ishkõday project contains a 6 km by 2.5 km mineralized corridor hosting both orogenic and volcanogenic systems validated by almost 100,000 m of drilling to date.

Management commentary

“While these results represent the early stages of testing in a geologically complex corridor, their significance lies in extending our knowledge of mineralization continuity between the historic Brenbar and Sturgeon River mine areas,” Cynthia Le Sueur-Aquin, president and chief executive officer of Laurion Mineral Exploration, said in a statement. “This is the first time drilling has been completed across this untested structural corridor, and it is yielding valuable geological insight with oriented core that will guide the next phase of our exploration program. Our focus remains on defining the broader mineralized system that links multiple historic mine zones, ultimately positioning Ishkõday as a district-scale gold and base metal opportunity.”
