SPARC AI (CSE:SPAI) submitted its advanced target acquisition system, which operates without traditional technologies, to a western nation’s army for development collaboration.

Via a news release, the Toronto-based tech company explained that it had made a submission to the army of a western nation for its target acquisition system, which operates without relying on GPS, lidar, radar, laser, or image recognition software.

The submission includes a development collaboration with the army, focusing on the target acquisition system and the company’s loitering munition drone (aka the “suicide drone”). This collaboration aims to enhance military operations by accelerating the sense-to-shoot cycle with precise geolocation and distance data, thereby improving decision-making, coordination, and soldier survivability, even during covert missions.

SPARC AI’s technology strengthens Intelligence Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) capabilities by enabling rapid target detection in contested environments, ensuring effective mission execution. The software also supports autonomous loitering munition drones that operate without GPS or radio frequency, effectively bypassing Counter-Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (C-UAV) systems. The team also wants to ensure that soldiers can access critical geolocation data even in Denied, Disrupted, Intermittent, and Limited (DDIL) communication environments, maintaining operational effectiveness in challenging conditions.

The company expects to be notified of the outcome of its submission in late April 2025. In February, SPARC AI engaged in discussions with defense prime contractors and is preparing for live demonstrations of its technology in March.

Moreover, SPARC AI has been enhancing its algorithms, recently integrating the Military Grid Reference System (MGRS) into its target acquisition software. MGRS is the geocoordinate standard used by NATO militaries.

SPARC AI Inc. has developed and patented Spatial Predictive Approximation and Radial Convolution (SPARC), encompassing exclusive algorithms leveraging established mathematical principles to determine the positions of remote objects independently of satellite, GPS or internet connectivity. Leveraging this core IP, SPARC AI is in the process of creating a variety of geospatial solutions, which are being seamlessly integrated into a microchip. This integration empowers users to enable SPARC AI functionality across their camera devices, including drones.

SPARC AI Inc. stock (CSE:SPAI) opened trading up 1.6 per cent at $0.29 and has risen 50 per cent since this time last year.
