Canada and New Zealand settled their dairy trade dispute with Canada agreeing to adjust how it allocates import quotas, without giving up its supply management system.

And Canada’s planned ramp-up in defense spending will boost GDP by about 0.1% this year and next, but won’t be enough to pull Canada out of recession.
